At long last, I have completed some final edits on the version 2 of my Emacs For Writers handbook.
I had mentioned that I was going to write a sequel edition with more advanced tips and tricks. Instead, I decided to augment the existing book. This way, if you have already downloaded it you can get the updated version by using your same link.
Included in this edition:
- More “file organization” theory
- Notes on advanced note-taking
- Tracking deadlines and other writerly metrics
Also, in addition to the original PDF version I’ve thrown in an ePub edition suitable for e-readers. And, of course, it’s all DRM-free.
How exciting! I enjoyed the original book and would love to have the updated pdf, and the epub, too! However, the download link in my “Thank you for buying…” email just leads directly to what looks for all the world like the original pdf (21 pages, 221.4 kb). Am I doing something wrong?
Hi, David. Yes, the old link should now to take you to a .zip file containing the new PDF and ePub version. I will investigate further. In the meantime, perhaps you might try clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser.
I purchased this book some months ago on leanpub …. going to my leanpub purchased books library – there is an epub version (alongside kindle and pdf) but the date of this file is 25th June 2025 so I suspect its still the old or original version.
Can you confirm that leanpub have the new version ?
Hi, Paul. No, you may be referring to a different Emacs writing book. Mine is only available at the link above. I have also sent the new file to all who have previously downloaded. Thanks!
