Work With Me

Website and Systems Design, Instructional Design, and Video Production.

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I build custom, bespoke solutions and then help people feel at home using them. That might be a website, a small program, an internal tool, or even a well tuned spreadsheet, along with the servers it runs on and the videos and guides that make it all easier to learn. If your project lives somewhere between building something and explaining it, that is usually where I am happiest and do my best work.

This page is for anyone thinking about a professional collaboration, whether that is a one-time project, ongoing support, or a conversation to figure out what you actually need. There is no pressure here. If it seems like a fit, I would be glad to talk.

What I Do

There are three threads to my work, and they tend to weave together on any given project.

Website and Systems Design

I design and build websites and the systems behind them, working across the full stack from the database and server up through the parts people see and use. I lean on AI tools to move quickly and keep the work focused, while staying close enough to the details to know the result is sound. I am comfortable setting up and maintaining servers and working directly on Linux, so a project can go from an idea to something running in production without handing it off to someone else along the way.

A project does not have to be a public website. Often the right answer is a bespoke solution built for one specific need, whether that is a small program to handle a particular task, an internal tool only your team will ever see, or even a carefully optimized spreadsheet. The goal is to fit the thing that gets built to the problem in front of you, rather than the other way around.

Video Production

I produce clear, well-paced video, from planning and recording through editing and final delivery. This works well for tutorials, product walkthroughs, course material, and any situation where showing something explains it better than words alone.

Instructional Design

I take complicated material and turn it into lessons people can actually follow. That means thinking carefully about how someone learns a topic, what order things should come in, and how to check that the ideas landed. Good instruction is quiet work, and it makes a real difference.

A Few Examples

A short sense of the kind of work this looks like in practice:

  • Built a custom CRM shaped around one team’s real workflow rather than a generic off-the-shelf tool
  • Set up DevOps workflows that automate the repetitive parts of deploying and maintaining a system
  • Produced instructional videos that walk people through software one step at a time
  • Written user guides and documentation that people can actually follow

Most projects end up being some mix of these, which is usually the point.

Technical Strengths

  • Full technology stack, front end through back end
  • Server setup, configuration, and maintenance
  • Linux administration and command line work
  • Connecting development work to clear teaching and documentation

Who This Is For

The people I work with best tend to need more than one of these skills at once:

  • A company that needs a tool built and the training to go with it
  • A team that wants its process documented in video
  • A small business that would rather have one bespoke tool than another monthly subscription
  • An educator who has the knowledge but needs help shaping it into a course

If any of that sounds familiar, we are probably a good match.
